Cocoa bean production — seven data points (1965/1975/1985/1995/2005/2015/2024). A far smaller magnitude than grains: about 5.2 Mt worldwide in 2024, against over 700 Mt for wheat.

Côte d'Ivoire (1.9 Mt) alone produces over a third of the world's cocoa, ahead of Ghana and Indonesia — West Africa holds most of world production, while nearly all of the chocolate processing and the added value it creates happens in Europe, an imbalance regularly denounced by producing countries.
