The gestational limit (in weeks) or the year of decriminalisation are only tooltip metadata, never the category criterion: France, at 16 weeks, stays classed "on request", the same as a country with no limit at all.
75 countries allow abortion simply on request, but 23 ban it entirely, even to save the mother's life. The US map has been the world's most fragmented since the 2022 Dobbs ruling, which handed the decision back to each state rather than a single federal rule.
